ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer to contribute to the growth and success of Optos' cloud capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking organisation, shaping the future of cloud technologies and driving innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement creative Azure technical solutions to support Optos' business needs.
  • Migrate workloads to the cloud, connect and manage hybrid cloud environments, and ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Solutions Architect to develop strategic and tactical planning for Optos' cloud systems.
  • Monitor cloud services performance, evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support and administer cloud systems, manage services, storage, and network architecture, and ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide 3rd line user support, including problem solving and resolution of issues to allow effective use of cloud systems.
  • Work closely with IT security to monitor Optos' cloud privacy and ensure compliance with industry standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in IT or related subject or equivalent education gained through work experiences.
  • Good understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
  • Experience of working with Azure and the Microsoft cloud stack, with a keen desire to build a wider range of skills.
  • Proven track record in cloud infrastructure engineering and support, including public and hybrid cloud, software defined networking, identity and access management, security, and storage.
  • Understanding of cloud governance technologies for cost management and control.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering role, preferably from an IT infrastructural background.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • An appreciation for DevOps methods (communication, collaboration, integration & automation).
  • Experience of migrating on-premises services to the Cloud, specifically Azure.
  • Basic scripting skills to drive process automation, Infrastructure-as-Code implementation, and security.
