Children's Nursing Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated team lead to join our Children's Nursing Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a team lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care for sick children and young people up to 18 years.

With a strong background in paediatrics, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and providing guidance on patient care, while also participating in the assessment, implementation, and delivery of individualised patient care plans.

We offer a substantive position working full-time up to 37 hours per week, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and leadership. Our dedicated team cares for babies, children, and young people from birth to 18 years, with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

Main Duties:

  • Participate in the assessment, implementation, and delivery of individualised patient care plans.
  • Lead a team of nurses, providing guidance on patient care.
  • Report on the condition of patients to clinical leaders and medical staff.
  • Ensure accurate recording of patient data.
  • Be responsible for the control and custody of all medication and drugs.
  • Maintain own professional development under senior staff guidance.
  • Develop teaching and assessing skills through training and practical experience.
