Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a modern and ambitious Secondary School in Newport. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and contributing to a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the Class Teacher to ensure high standards of teaching and support students with general school tasks, including Literacy Interventions. You will also help students develop and improve the skills and talents they need to flourish and make a positive contribution to society.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with Literacy Interventions and other general school tasks
  • Work alongside the Class Teacher to ensure high standards of teaching
  • Help students develop and improve their skills and talents
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or at least 6 months classroom experience
  • ALN experience and/or 1-2-1 experience
  • Good behavioural management skills/experience with challenging behaviours
  • Experience in assisting with and promoting Independent Living Skills
