Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HPC Systems Administrator to join our team at Atomic Weapons Establishment. This role offers excellent opportunities for career advancement in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The successful candidate will have experience working with high-performance computers, Linux-based systems, and parallel file systems. They will be responsible for providing day-to-day support of HPC systems, monitoring their performance and reliability, and developing in-house tools to support HPC platform administration.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the most powerful supercomputers in the UK and contribute to AWE's scientific and engineering programmes. The salary for this role is estimated to be £43,000 - £72,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning, installation, and commissioning of new HPC systems
  • Provide day-to-day support of HPC systems
  • Configuration management of HPC platform hardware and software
  • Monitor the performance and reliability of HPC systems
  • Development of in-house tools to support HPC platform administration
