Job Title: Field Service Engineer (Telematics)

Location: Home-Based, Mobile Working (Paid door-to-door), covering Luton, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Cambridge.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 basic per annum (dependent on experience), with the potential to exceed £40,000 per annum including overtime and bonuses.

Hours: Monday - Friday, days (overtime available)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Fleet Installations. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for attending service and installation calls within agreed timescales, ensuring top-notch service delivery.

You will provide accurate and timely information to our field deployment team, use your knowledge of telematics and other ancillary equipment to deliver high-quality installations, and utilize a laptop/iPad for reporting and documenting installation data.

Additionally, you will mentor apprentices (desirable), helping to shape the next generation of engineers, and adhere to Health and Safety policies, ensuring best practices are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Attend service and installation calls within agreed timescales.
  2. Provide accurate and timely information to our field deployment team.
  3. Use your knowledge of telematics and other ancillary equipment to deliver high-quality installations.
  4. Mentor apprentices (desirable).
  5. Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  1. Experience in field-based installations and service engineering.
  2. Expertise in installing telematics and aftermarket equipment to the highest standards.
  3. Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  4. Experience in a field-based customer service environment.
  5. Proficiency with digital multi-meters and test equipment.
  6. Knowledge of current legislation and industry standards related to vehicle installations.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  8. Excellent soldering skills.
