Position: Strategic Technology Architect

Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid (3 days a week working from home)

Reporting To: Head of Architecture

Overview

We are in search of a Strategic Technology Architect to shape and advance the technological framework supporting our internal operational workflows at Rightmove. This encompasses areas such as sales automation, order processing, pricing strategies, billing oversight, and customer service enhancement.

Your expertise will be vital in deconstructing enterprise workflows and crafting solutions that seamlessly integrate with current systems, ensuring adaptability for future demands. Experience with widely distributed platforms and both custom and standard software solutions is highly valued. This role necessitates active collaboration with engineering teams and technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technological vision with an emphasis on evolving business processes
  • Work alongside Product Managers and stakeholders to brainstorm design concepts
  • Examine business workflows and make architectural choices grounded in data analysis
  • Assess build versus buy strategies within the enterprise software sector
  • Collaborate with technology partners to enhance capabilities and optimize costs
  • Maintain sound technical decisions and architectural coherence across various teams

Qualifications

  • Convert business objectives into effective technological solutions
  • Possess a solid understanding of key enterprise integration methodologies
  • Lead architectural enhancements with practical implementation
  • Design solutions for business processes across distributed systems
  • Effectively communicate architectural concepts to stakeholders
  • Encourage inclusive design practices

Technical Expertise

  • Familiarity with the enterprise software ecosystem
  • Experience with CRM, BPM, payment processing, and/or ticketing systems
  • Proficient in the Java application stack, particularly Spring
  • Expertise in REST and/or GraphQL API architecture
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of testing tools and best practices in Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Understanding of Docker, cloud technologies, and deployment strategies
