Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid (3 days a week working from home)

Reporting to: Head of Architecture

Overview

We are in search of a Strategic Technology Architect to shape and propel the technological vision behind our internal operational workflows at Rightmove. This encompasses sales automation, order processing, pricing strategies, billing oversight, and customer service enhancement.

Your expertise in deconstructing enterprise workflows and crafting solutions that seamlessly integrate with current systems for long-term viability will be crucial. A background in highly distributed platforms utilizing both custom and industry-standard software is highly desirable. This role necessitates active collaboration with product engineering teams and technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence technology strategy with a focus on the evolution of business processes
  • Work closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to brainstorm design concepts
  • Assess business workflows and make architectural choices grounded in data analysis
  • Consider build versus buy strategies within the enterprise software landscape
  • Engage with technology partners to boost technical capabilities and optimize costs
  • Ensure sound technical choices and architectural uniformity across various teams

Qualifications

  • Convert business objectives into technological solutions
  • Comprehend essential enterprise integration methodologies
  • Lead architectural enhancements with practical implementation
  • Design solutions for business processes across distributed systems
  • Articulate architectural concepts effectively to stakeholders
  • Encourage inclusive design practices

Technical Expertise

  • Familiarity with the enterprise software ecosystem
  • Experience with CRM, BPM, payment processing, and/or ticketing solutions
  • Proficiency in the Java application framework, particularly Spring
  • Expertise in REST and/or GraphQL API architecture
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of testing tools and best practices in Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Understanding of Docker, cloud computing platforms, and deployment strategies
