Cover Supervisor

GSL Education is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.
Job SummaryCover Supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students are engaged in learning activities and maintaining discipline.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher, facilitating learning by guiding students through activities and answering questions as needed.
- Oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring students stay on task and complete assigned activities, providing support and encouragement to students who require assistance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
- Passion for supporting the learning and development of students and making a positive difference in their lives.
