Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HSE activities to monitor the safe effective operations of the plant covering all shifts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the HSE management system.
  • Interpret and keep management and employees informed of new and developing legislation and other HSE standards.
  • Participate in HSE programmes to promote HSE awareness and the safety of self & others.
  • Develop and conduct/assess risk assessments and works instructions.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections.
  • Ensure the company is aware of statutory obligations and recommended codes of practice.
  • Advise management of their responsibilities for accident prevention and avoidance of health hazards.
  • Through line management and supervision, advising where improvements in health and safety standards or practices are appropriate.
  • Maintain statutory safety records, in addition to maintaining health and safety records required by the company.
  • Advise on possible hazards when considering the introduction of new machinery, new materials, new processes, or changes in existing ones.
  • Oversee and review all accident investigations and preparing statistics to assist in monitoring health and safety performance.
  • Identify health and safety training needs and advising on suitable training programs.
  • Ensure that all necessary risk assessments required by legislation are carried out.
  • Arrange for the provision of appropriate personal protective equipment based on risk assessments.
  • Regular health, safety and housekeeping inspections which cover buildings, plant, equipment, services, and fire arrangements, to ensure conformity with regulations and company policies.
  • Having thorough knowledge of the Safety & Environmental Management System (ISO 18001 & ISO 14001) and providing assistance and guidance in ensuring continuous implementation of the system.
  • Also responsible in being the management representative in the Safety Management Review Committee.
  • Having thorough knowledge of the HSE Program and providing advice, guidance and sufficient training to the plant, yard and HSE supervisors on the effective implementation of the program.

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree/Diploma/ IOSH Working Managing Safely Certificate or equivalent in related field.
  • 4 - 5 years of health and safety experience.
  • Experience in project implementation with HSE expertise and support projects (ideally within Oil & Gas or Heavy Engineering).
  • Professional certification in recognized HSE and must registered Safety & Health with NOSH HSE
  • Having thorough knowledge of the Safety & Environmental Management System (ISO 18001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001)
  • Possess a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (desirable)
  • Able to work on shifts.
  • Possesses interpersonal skills that encourages openness and trust both internally and externally

Salary and Benefits

£45,000 per annum, plus benefits.

This salary reflects the level of experience and qualifications required for this position.
