Overview

Stirling Dynamics is seeking talented Modelling and Simulation Engineers to join our Simulation, Dynamics and Control team. Due to upcoming projects and continued growth, we are looking for multiple engineers at all levels of experience to work on the development of complex control algorithms and vehicle and system plant models for next generation marine applications.

Responsibilities
  • Develop task definitions with the technical lead
  • Define model and control algorithm requirements
  • Build and test models
  • Peer review of models
  • Prepare and present results, models etc to customers
  • Formal verification procedures
  • Author model documentation
Requirements
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline (preferably Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Mathematics, Physics, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of model based processes, Matlab/Simulink and ideally control theory
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and collaborate within a team of engineers
Desired Skills
  • Application within the Marine sector
  • Advanced control theory, such as Kalman filters, and state estimation
  • Sea state modelling
  • Real time models
  • Code generation
  • C/C++
Experience
  • All levels considered from +2 years industrial experience
  • Some industrial experience is expected, with the role intended to support marine projects, but if you have the skills and experience to match from other industries, then we would love to hear from you
Benefits

The role would be grade 3 - 6, which is equivalent to £30,000 - £54,000 dependent on experience. We offer a range of benefits to our employees to recognise their efforts.
