Role Overview

The Royal Air Force is seeking a skilled Media Operations Specialist to support the delivery of national and international imagery. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with People Operations Media Officers and HQ Air Command to ensure the RAF's stories are presented accurately and fairly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture, manipulate, and produce various types of photo and videography content
  • Support media operations officers in capturing relevant imagery for campaigns
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation
  • Collaborate with the RAF's social media team to enhance online presence

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
  • Currently employed, self-employed, or studying as a journalist or PR practitioner, with a portfolio of published material
  • Aged 18-54 years old
  • Citizen of the UK, Republic of Ireland, or Commonwealth citizen with indefinite leave to remain
  • Impeccable written English and a full UK driving licence
  • Commit to 27 days per year
  • Pass a fitness test

Training and Career Development

The RAF offers comprehensive training and career development opportunities. As a Media Operations Specialist, you will receive basic and specialist training in your field, as well as the option to pursue further education. Your experience with the RAF will equip you to work at the top of your field, both in the UK and overseas.

Commitment and Location

You will be required to commit to 27 days per year for a minimum of 12 years. You may be deployed to a UK or overseas base for up to 6 months after your first year.
