About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Senior Practitioner. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of adult inpatient OT services, ensuring effective, consistent, and equitable access to OT services.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the OT service within the care group, taking a lead in aspects of service development.
  • Work with the OT Professional Lead and Head of OT to agree strategic professional action plans and implementation.
  • Provide OT advice to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide specialist OT input to the planning, development, and evaluation of clinical services, holding responsibility for defined projects.
  • Offer specialist OT assessments and interventions to a caseload of clients with complex needs, identifying barriers and supporting clients to achieve functional goals.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, provision, and evaluation of the OT services within the Salford inpatient Division, taking a lead in aspects of audit, standard setting, research, and development.
  • Prioritize referrals for OT and provide an evidence-based OT service.
  • Be responsible for professional provision, including professional supervision and induction to junior staff and students, as well as training to students, staff colleagues, and other agencies.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the requirements of service users.
  • Provide an OT perspective in inpatient management team meetings.

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Up-to-date registration with the relevant professional body.

Desirable

Experience & Knowledge

  • Documented evidence of CPD.
  • 3 years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years within mental health.
