We are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist/Senior Ecologist to join our team at Assystem. As a key member of our Ecology team, you will play a crucial role in supporting major commercial developments and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the site-based Ecological Clerk of Works (EcoW) team and additional ecology resources.
- Project/package manage subcontractors working on habitat and landscape management.
- Input into and production of construction phase documents and oversee the delivery of measures detailed in the Site-Specific Environmental Management Plans and supporting method statements.
- Produce and review management plans, ecological method statements/risk assessments, and protected species mitigation strategies and implementation.
- Liaise with clients' core environment & sustainability and project management teams.
- Deliver toolbox talks to the production team and sub-contractors.
- Liaise with stakeholders and local authorities as required.
- Experience gained across the construction/civil engineering areas, ideally working across projects, coupled with experience of supervising ecology or ECoW teams.
- Fully conversant with producing ecological appraisals, method statements/risk assessments, and protected species mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with protected species licence requirements and environmental protection measures.
- Demonstrable experience of delivery of habitat creation or site re-instatement works, coupled with broad experience of multiple environmental disciplines.
- Membership of CIEEM or equivalent environmental organisation desirable.
- Driving license essential.
