About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Management Accountant to join our team at HF Trust. As a Trainee Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team with the provision of accurate and timely financial reports and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team with the preparation of financial reports and analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work closely with the sales ledger team to ensure cash is correctly matched to billings.
  • Assist the team with queries on cash and purchase ledger transactions.
  • Liaise with local authority finance teams to identify late payment issues and their underlying cause.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc requests for analysis and participate in the annual budget preparation and financial reforecasting.
  • Liaise with the operations team for all billing-related issues and provide key stakeholders with audit support.
Requirements
  • AAT Level 2 or equivalent level of experience and understanding of accounting terminology.
  • Experience in credit control is essential, and previous exposure to local authority finance teams is advantageous.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn further IT packages as required.
  • Experience of using a database and accurate data inputting.
  • Knowledge and experience using computerised accounting systems.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
