Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Job Summary
The Producibility Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability and producibility of new designs and leading improvements for existing designs. This role requires a technical authority who can assess and resolve potential non-conformities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Design for Manufacturing process and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to meet cost, delivery, and product safety targets.
- Drive rapid resolution of issues during industrialization and production, ensuring root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
- Deliver robust manufacturing technical packages and methods for production components to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Sustain a High Performance Culture in the team, initiating and championing continuous improvement.
- Drive continous improvements to eliminate concessions and rework.
- Control and reduce costs to drive profitability in the factory by challenging methods of manufacture.
- Effectively assess and resolve internal and external concessions, production permits, and manufacturing quality issues.
- Deploy and execute DAR and PCB processes, and implement minor design modifications.
- Ensure design intent is achieved as Technical Authority.
- Drive lessons learned into methods and designs during Product Introduction and manufacturing, focusing on safety, cost, delivery, and lead time.
- Provide day-to-day production support activities requiring engineering input for manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in engineering management and/or an operational function.
- Previous experience as a Designer or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors, familiar with Quality, Industrialization, and Operations processes.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and solid design engineering background.
- Expertise in design and definition processes for complex products through the product lifecycle.
- Experience using CAD (ideally NX) and PLM (Teamcenter) packages.
- Experience in continuous improvement, root cause investigation, and lean techniques.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Design for X experience (where X is cost, manufacture, maintenance, and build).
- Effective technical and/or professional leadership experience leading a team of Engineers.
- Successful delivery of small projects across Design Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering, focusing on cost, delivery, and quality improvements.
- Proven track record in leading change across the wider business at pace.
- Practical experience of operating within a production or external supply chain facility in either a Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering capacity.
- Practical experience of New Product Introduction, Industrialization, Production, and associated processes.
