Job Title: Specialist Podiatrist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Podiatrist to join our friendly and approachable Podiatry team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical podiatric care to patients with complex foot conditions, including diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and vascular/ischaemic long-term conditions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist assessment and treatment planning for patients with high-risk foot conditions.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality care to patients in community, hospital, and domiciliary settings.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to prevent and manage foot complications associated with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and vascular/ischaemic long-term conditions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • BSc Diploma/Degree in Podiatric Medicine.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Prescription-only medicines certificate (included in BSc degree from 2001).
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia (included in BSc degree).
  • Minimum of 1 year working in the community as a podiatrist.
  • Experience of communicating across internal and external boundaries.
  • Experience of governance, quality, and audit.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
