Job Description

The Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Business Intelligence team, you will play a vital role in developing data products that meet the needs of clinicians and patients.

About the Role

You will be responsible for writing specifications, developing logic to meet requirements, documenting stages, and preparing products for deployment into the warehouse infrastructure. This involves working alongside other team members to contribute as a point of contact for product-related issues logged on the service desk.

Strong applied knowledge of full-stack development is essential, with experience of PowerBI and data warehousing being advantageous. You will need to demonstrate your ability to work autonomously in delivering new reporting products, as well as maintaining and altering existing ones.

Main Duties
  • Build complex information reports and dashboards, playing a key role in the development of the Trust's Business Information systems.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Development Manager.
  • Look after the development and testing lifecycle of systems changes.
  • Recommend changes and improvements to policies within the development team and department.
Leadership and Communication
  • Report to the Business Intelligence Development Manager.
  • Actively contribute to team improvement and provide coaching to colleagues as needed.
  • Provide complex verbal, written, and graphical business and analytical information to the performance and information team and managers throughout the Trust.
  • Undertake audits and surveys as required, analysing results to improve own, Trust, and departmental performance.
Requirements
  • Advanced data analysis and preparation of data presentation.
  • Strong SQL skills, including developing SQL queries to an advanced level, TSQL, functions, stored procedures, and query optimisation.
  • Able to utilise NLP and machine learning to create insights using Python.
  • Able to develop and build patient-related activity and performance reports.
