## Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a unique and supportive educational setting located in the picturesque village of Slinfold, West Sussex.

## Job Summary

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support to individual learners, ensuring they can access the curriculum and develop key life skills. You will assist with day-to-day classroom activities, provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help, and support students with special educational needs.

## Key Responsibilities

* Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and day-to-day classroom activities
* Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help with their learning
* Support students with special educational needs and implement personalized learning strategies
* Help create a safe and supportive classroom environment
* Encourage positive behavior and social interactions among students
* Assist in planning engaging and creative activities

## Person Specification

* Experience working with children, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health needs (preferred but not essential)
* Patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
* Commitment to the safety and well-being of all students

## Qualifications

* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one
* GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Experience in a similar role or a passion for working with children and young people
