About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a SEN Special School in Horsham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with moderate to severe and multiple learning difficulties, including physical disabilities, sensory impairment, ASC, and SEMH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students throughout the school day, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Use sensory integration techniques to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Support students in developing their communication skills, including speech, language, and social interaction.
  • De-escalate challenging situations and promote a positive, inclusive school environment.
  • Work closely with students to identify and achieve their goals, promoting autonomy and self-discipline.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEND or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to promoting student well-being.
