Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solar Design Engineer to join our Buckinghamshire office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop their skills, and contribute to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform site evaluations to assess solar performance potential, shading, and structural factors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Utilize software tools such as EasyPV, OpenSolar, and PVsol to create precise solar PV layouts and simulations.
  • Conduct energy modeling and financial analysis to evaluate project feasibility and return on investment (ROI).

As a Solar Design Engineer at Astute People, you will have the opportunity to stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar PV design and engineering.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in Solar PV design using tools like AutoCAD, EasyPV, OpenSolar, or PVSol (or similar solar design software).
  • A City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a similar field of study.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical engineering, systems, and industry standards.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
