About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Kent Autistic Trust. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and related difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centered care and support to individuals in their daily lives, promoting independence and choice.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support.
- Administer medication, assist with personal care and hygiene, and perform household management tasks.
- Drive a mobility car or service vehicle, with a manual license required.
- Support individuals with challenging behaviors, promoting de-escalation techniques and crisis management.
- Participate in sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Experience working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and related difficulties.
- Ability to think on your feet and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of person-centered care and support principles.
- Manual driving license and ability to drive a mobility car or service vehicle.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
