Job Title: Strategic IT Director

Reports to: CEO

Salary: Scale PO9, Points 54-57, £53,857 - £58,706 per annum, pro rata

Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Purpose of the Role:

This is a strategic leadership role that requires expertise in IT and data capture and analysis. The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and implementing St Basils' IT and Cyber-security strategy, as well as managing the Performance Hub team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide line management to the Head of IT and the Performance Hub team.
  • Develop and implement IT and Cyber-Security Strategy.
  • Ensure data capture systems, data analysis, and reporting are integrated and meet organisational objectives.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with the function.
  • Jointly support Youth Services Managers (YSMs) and deliver organisational objectives.
  • Provide effective reports to Board, Committees, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Liaise with the Finance Director to compile realistic annual budgets and monitor income and expenditure.
  • Work with others on matters of common concern, policy issues, and the smooth running of St Basils.
  • Participate in the compilation of Business Plans and set and monitor objectives and targets.
  • Optimise resources and develop best practice within a Psychologically Informed Environment.
  • Support and manage a team of performance analysts.
  • Devise and implement policies and strategies for performance management and reporting.
  • Manage development and implementation of fit-for-purpose monitoring systems.
  • Deliver insightful statistical analysis and raise management actions or business cases.
  • Advise SLT and senior managers on performance and service improvement.
  • Partner managers and provide up-to-date data to support performance across St Basils.
  • Influence and motivate managers and staff associated with performance issues.
  • Embed a performance management culture across all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide training and guidance on performance and service improvement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication of performance issues.
  • Represent St Basils and attend meetings at all levels.
  • Manage and control budgets and expenditure within approved allocations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to Board and Sub-Committees.
  • Be aware of all developments in associated government, regional, and local issues.
  • Coordinate performance indicator information and provide regular updates to partners, funders, and commissioners.
  • Assist with the achievement and maintenance of external quality marks.
  • Provide data capture and analysis to contribute to achieving objectives within the EDI Strategy.
  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships to maximise alignment and effectiveness of performance reporting.
  • Deliver continuous improvement of the performance reporting process.
  • Use external empirical data and trends to inform work and drive better outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level in a related subject area and/or senior level experience with evidence of management development and continuing professional development.

ROLE EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Expert knowledge in IT and data capture and analysis.
  • Experience of developing MS Power Bi reports.
  • Experience of developing and implementing reporting structures and data analysis.
  • Understanding of value creation and value capture.
  • Experience of implementing Cyber-security strategies.
  • Experience of working within a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in managing budgets/operations within tight financial circumstances and/or competing priorities.
  • Experience of providing strategic guidance and advice at Board level.
  • Experience of providing line management/supervision and support to staff.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining performance indicators and targets.
  • Track record of success in working at a strategic level in optimising resources, implementing new business development, promoting service delivery, developing and maintaining best practice.
  • Experience of providing management information report writing including the presentation of statistical data.
  • Experience of building effective relationships with external stakeholders and partners.

Desirable:

Knowledge of other MS Power Platform products and MS Fabric.
