About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Compliance Officer to lead our Compliance function in the EMEA region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring our company's overall compliance culture and program are in place and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a robust compliance management program in line with global standards and industry best practices.
  2. Manage the country Heads of Compliance/MLROs of OKX entities in the EMEA region to develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  3. Engage cross-functionally with teams such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk to ensure effective compliance management.
  4. Monitor and assess compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, including MiCA and GDPR.
  5. Lead Compliance reporting in the region, including reports to senior management, management committees, and the board.
  6. Oversee ongoing regulatory engagement in the region with key regulators.
  7. Liaise with first line and other second and third line teams to ensure a sufficient control environment that meets regulatory standards.
  8. Act as the first point of contact for business team members in compliance issues and provide advice accordingly.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of experience in compliance in financial services, FinTech, or cryptocurrency industries.
  2. Knowledge of Compliance and regulatory risks for the crypto industry.
  3. Extensive experience of overseeing an effective compliance management program in line with EU/UK standards and an awareness of local and international industry best practices.
  4. Experience and knowledge of relevant US and EU laws and requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy) and managing regulatory engagements.
  5. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
