About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Planning Adviser to join our team in the Midlands and East Region. As a key member of our consultancy, you will work on diverse projects in some of the UK's most iconic places, developing your expertise in managing policy and development.

What You'll Do

  • Provide professional planning advice and support to colleagues in the consultancy and at National Trust places throughout the region.
  • Work with planners across the Trust, with opportunities for training, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the development of planning strategies and policies that support the Trust's conservation goals.
  • Engage with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and respond to external planning applications, consultations, and local plans.

What We're Looking For

  • A qualified planner with a Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)-accredited degree or working towards chartered RTPI membership.
  • Experience in analysing, resolving, and preparing positions and advice on planning issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
