We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Project Leader to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Commissioning Project Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Mechanical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section.


About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical project within the Submarine build environment. You will be working across multiple platforms and programmes, maturing the Weapons Systems from equipment installation up to a commissioned system ready to handover to the Royal Navy.


Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section.
  • Oversee Mechanical RIP outs for the Weapon Test Section.
  • Review and author test documentation in relation to the Weapons Test Section.
  • Develop mechanical engineers in the Weapon Test Section.
  • Good commissioning knowledge of Submarine Weapons Handling Systems.
  • Strong understanding of the Installations and Final Installation process for mechanical systems.
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering subjects or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader/Mentor.
