About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multinational Team Manager to lead our Global team in Redhill. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the team and applying your specialist multinational knowledge as subject matter expert and referral point on outbound and reverse flow business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability, making appropriate decisions within your underwriting authority and providing considered, intelligent, and complete recommendations to technical underwriting/business leadership.
  • Work with Regional and Corporate underwriters on more complex accounts and risks, considering different approaches toward risks to maximize profitability, such as pricing, retention, endorsements, limits, indemnity, and security.
  • Make prompt, sound decisions within your underwriting authority and based on appropriate underwriting information, negotiating terms and conditions consistent with underwriting requirements and service.
  • Understand and execute Travelers' underwriting strategies and principles to produce budgeted results, ensuring accurate underwriting documentation and information in account management systems and adherence to Travelers' documentation standards.
  • Actively engage and seek out training opportunities to further develop underwriting expertise, seeking out and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues in other business units and regions to foster business development across Travelers.
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled regional and product underwriting and/or sales meetings, demonstrating superior customer service standards to meet Travelers' service standards.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to help achieve underwriting, sales, and production goals and work towards strategic objectives, carrying out Underwriter File reviews on allocated accounts and providing coaching and ensuring completion of file breaches.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching for a small team of Global underwriters, ensuring they are supervised and meet the competence levels required for their roles.
  • Regularly report financials (retention, rate, new business, growth) to your line manager, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • General knowledge of the global insurance marketplace.
  • Proven experience in underwriting Global exposures and coordinating global programs.
  • General knowledge of organizational and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures, effectively employing that knowledge in day-to-day work activities.

  • General knowledge of technical underwriting.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability required in respect of analytical thinking, judgment, decision making, communication, and strong teamwork.
  • Demonstrates advanced ability in the areas of customer focus and positive broker interaction.
  • Typically demonstrates intermediate relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrates emerging leadership capabilities and effectively manages all facets of staff performance.
  • ACII qualification preferred.
