Audit Manager

TPF Recruitment is currently supporting a reputable chartered accountancy practice in Kent, who are recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Manager on a permanent, full-time, or part-time basis. The practice has a strong reputation for excellence and has seen significant growth over the years, attracting top talent in the local area due to its relaxed and flexible approach, coupled with excellent exposure and career prospects.
The role offers a flexible and varied workload, allowing the successful candidate to build their portfolio around their experience and aspirations. As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will be allocated a diverse client portfolio, including company and charity audit clients, company accounts, and taxation, as well as personal tax returns. Training will be provided as required, and you will work as part of a team of managers, overseeing junior staff, managing workflow, and reporting directly to the partners.
Main Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver audit and accounts assignments
- Lead large and complex assignments
- Review statutory accounts preparation and corporate tax computations
- Supervise junior staff during the audit and review their work
- Deliver the audit file to the partner in a timely manner
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and potential management letter points
- Manage client communication effectively
- Monitor chargeability and assignment budgets proactively
- Coach other staff for improved performance and technical development
- Develop specialist sector knowledge and stay up-to-date with industry developments
- Mentor audit and accounts trainees and contribute to the training and development program
- ACA or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience, or qualified by experience
- Ability to apply audit standards through practical application
- Knowledge of UK GAAP
- Practical knowledge of the preparation of group accounts
- Knowledge of IFRS would be useful but not essential
- Experience of both not-for-profit clients and corporate clients would be advantageous but is not essential
- A highly competitive salary of circa £48,000 - £58,000 dependent on experience, background, and qualifications - negotiable
