Job Title: Technical Design Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Assistant to join our team at Apple Recruitment. As a Technical Design Assistant, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our clients in the development and implementation of design projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the development and manufacture of teaching aids and models for use in practical classes, demonstrations, and experiments.
  2. Prepare resources for classes, including setting up, testing, and demonstrating resources in accordance with agreed schemes of work and lesson plans.
  3. Provide support to pupils, assist pupils with queries, and work with pupils on an individual or group basis as required.
  4. Collect, clean, and store equipment and materials safely and securely in designated storage areas.
  5. Ensure all items are regularly inspected and maintained in a state of readiness for use.
  6. Inform the designated Line Manager of any materials or equipment found to be in an unsafe or unsatisfactory condition.
  7. Develop and implement detailed risk assessments as required by the designated Line Manager.
  8. Advise on health and safety issues related to equipment and report breaches of health and safety policy to the designated Line Manager.
  9. Maintain records and inventories of departmental resources, materials, and consumables.
  10. Assist with ordering, purchasing, receiving, storing, and distributing departmental resources, materials, and consumables.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Work with the marketing team to develop the College website and ensure it is fit for purpose.
  2. Be responsible for maintaining the College website, ensuring content is up to date for curricular and extracurricular activities.
  3. Develop and manage social media for the College as required.
  4. Draft, produce, and distribute fundraising materials.
  5. Develop newsletter campaigns for stakeholders, including alumni and parents.
  6. Provide administrative support for delivering a calendar of College events.
  7. Assist with procuring necessary marketing and other materials, including liaison with designers, printers, photographers, and merchandise suppliers.

Essential Criteria for this role include:

  • At least 1 year's experience as a Design Technician or similar role.
