Network Rail is committed to creating a sustainable future for our railway and the environment. We're seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team in Wales & Western Region.

This role will involve working with our Director of Engineering and Asset Management (DEAM) team, specifically within the 'Weather Resilience and Sustainable Development' team, to develop and implement environmental strategies that promote biodiversity and sustainability.

You will report directly into the Environment Manager (Biodiversity) and be responsible for producing habitat and vegetation management plans (HVMPs), including site visits, ecology surveys, and relevant report writing.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive field experience, a relevant higher degree in Ecology or Environmental Sciences, and good understanding of UK and European wildlife legislation.

In return for your expertise, you'll enjoy a competitive salary of £44,000 - £49,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including pension scheme and training opportunities.
