Portfolio Payroll is seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll data, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, and other adjustments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Data Management: Collect and verify payroll data from the time and attendance system, ensuring appropriate authorizations are in place to submit to external bureaus in accordance with the payroll schedule.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Payroll Reporting and Analysis: Review payroll reports from external bureaus and communicate any changes or corrections needed in a timely manner, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Pension Scheme Management: Manage the pension scheme, ensuring up-to-date data is maintained on the pension site and acting as the main point of contact for employees regarding pension deductions and contributions.
  • Payroll Systems Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and updating of payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a busy high-volume payroll environment, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation and technical knowledge to assist with complex payroll queries.
  • Skills: Strong numerical skills, good problem-solving abilities, and excellent stakeholder management and customer service skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables, and experience working on finance systems, completing postings, reporting, and reconciling balance sheets.
