Role Summary:

As a Technical Lead in our Construction Risk Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading our Construction CAR discipline, providing loss control expertise and support to customers, and assisting in risk selection and retention. You will have significant experience in construction risk management, with a focus on Contractors' All Risks (CAR) exposures.

You will be responsible for leading the Construction CAR discipline, providing ongoing coordination and monitoring of loss prevention activity, servicing assigned accounts, and conducting loss control survey work. This role requires a strong understanding of construction risk management, including the implications of relevant UK regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with underwriting account and claims teams to aid in the development and implementation of underwriting strategy and standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical training guidance and technical manuals.
  • Carry out technical assessments and apply risk control measures for insured risks via desktop reviews, on-site surveys, and remote inspections.
  • Work with underwriting, clients, and brokers to develop customized loss control engineering programs.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with IEng, EngTech, or CEng status.
  • Experience in construction risk management, preferably within the insurance industry or construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction liability risk, health and safety practices, and relevant UK regulations.
