About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to support the delivery and mentoring of an expanding team in the London and Southeast region. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing professional and project delivery building surveying services across a broad range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing feasibility studies and recommendations
  • Scoping, estimating, and presenting reports
  • Undertaking surveys, design, and specification services
  • Respecting and delivering services in accordance with best practice and legislation
  • Preparing timely and effective post-contract administration and final account agreements
  • Taking personal responsibility for service delivery
  • Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages
  • Working with associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work
  • Ensuring key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the internal database
  • Assisting with new technology for data capture and reporting
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the consultancy business of Mace across all sectors
Requirements
  • Previous building surveying experience in a consultancy environment
  • Technical knowledge and competency in building surveying
  • Good negotiation, presentation, and report writing skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Knowledge of construction materials and technology
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant and neighbourly matters
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction costs
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD for preparing specification drawings
  • Understanding and implementing a Bid to Win strategy
  • Ability to identify and recommend solutions to construction defects
  • Proficient in specification writing and tender preparation
  • Understanding of Contract Administration
