Job Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Worker to support students in a Secondary SEMH Alternative Provision in Birmingham.

The school caters to students in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4, many of whom have faced challenges in mainstream schools and some with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCP). The school provides a range of support for students with needs such as autistic spectrum disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and severe social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

The school offers small class sizes with a teaching assistant to support each class. The curriculum is differentiated to ensure all pupils can access it, through methods such as grouping, 1:1 work, teaching style, and content of the lesson. For KS2 or KS3 pupils on short-term placements, the school has a Nurture provision.

The position is open to experienced individuals and those with a strong background in youth work or mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school may consider extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Requirements

  • Team Teach qualified (or signed up to attend the with our agency)
