Maintenance Operations Manager

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the smooth operation of our maintenance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance work and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance procedures. Proficient in using various tools and equipment required for maintenance work. Familiarity with mobile plant equipment is preferred. Previous experience in the waste and recycling sector is beneficial.
* Leadership and Management: Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff. Excellent people skills with the capacity to nurture a productive and collaborative work environment. Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating maintenance activities, including delegating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring work is completed efficiently. Ability to monitor and evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary feedback and coaching.
* Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, management, and external suppliers. Ability to foster open lines of communication and maintain good relationships with equipment manufacturers and other suppliers. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with the operational team to achieve operational targets and drive process improvement.
* Health and Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices related to maintenance work. Experience in conducting risk assessments, creating work-based method statements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. A proactive approach to maintaining high standards of maintenance health and safety.
* Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and identifying defect trends. Commitment to driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes, techniques, and equipment. Innovative thinking and ability to implement positive changes effectively.
* Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records, monitoring departmental expenditure, and planning maintenance stock.
**Working Hours**
* Permanent Nights 8 pm-5 am - Monday - Friday
