Job Overview

As a Materials Innovation Leader at Cranleigh STEM, you will be responsible for developing and advancing innovative energy storage solutions. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with a passion for renewable energy and innovation.

The successful candidate will contribute to designing, planning, and executing R&D projects targeting performance improvements in energy storage materials. You will work closely with Project Leads to craft impactful initiatives and develop technology for deployment in commercial products.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the Research Group, you will:

  1. Investigate and develop advanced solutions to enhance the performance of energy storage cells.
  2. Collaborate with Project Leads to design, plan, and execute R&D projects targeting performance improvements in energy storage materials.
  3. Lead innovation efforts to adapt and improve current technologies for commercial products.
  4. Support cross-functional collaboration within the company.
  5. Conduct testing and analysis of materials using electrochemical techniques and instrumentation.
Requirements
  • PhD in Electrochemistry, Material Science, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of industrial experience in R&D or a related capacity
  • Expertise in electrochemical cell design, component interactions, and testing methodologies
  • Innovation skills in electrochemistry or electrode material science
  • Practical experience in synthesising carbon-based electrode materials
  • Strong understanding of experimental design and physical characterisation techniques
  • Ability to analyse complex data rigorously and communicate findings effectively
  • Team leadership experience and ability to motivate researchers
  • Passion for renewable energy and innovation
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving approach
