Job Title: Social Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children's Services team. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with families to identify their needs and strengths, and develop plans to improve their lives.
- Assess family situations to determine if statutory intervention is necessary to protect children from harm.
- Collaborate with families, children, and professionals to create plans that reduce risks and improve outcomes.
- Conduct child protection investigations when required, involving families in developing safety plans.
- Work with colleagues to secure stable, long-term placements for children who cannot remain in their families.
- Maintain detailed case records, assessments, and plans, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Participate in regular reflective supervision and training to continually improve your practice and outcomes.

Requirements:

- Professional qualification in Social Work (e.g. CQSW or DipSW) and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience working with children and families, ideally in a statutory setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK childcare law and statutory guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence in using motivational interviewing techniques to engage families.
- Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to helping children and families achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with partners across social care, education, and health.
