The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at The Learning Experience #398. As a key member of our scientific team, you will play a foundational role in building our platform and working closely with our founders and collaborators to establish standards and practices.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline, with experience in working with large-scale genomic or functional genomic datasets. They will be proficient in Python and/or R, with a mastery of integrating and analysing diverse high-dimensional omics data sets relevant for immunology, oncology, neuroscience, or other therapeutically-relevant fields.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for performing analysis of human disease datasets, developing computational models to stratify patient groups, and enabling data-driven target discovery. They will also support the team in building and maintaining a secure data pipeline, advising on and supporting activities to functionally validate targets using in silico approaches, and working collaboratively with the team and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of human disease datasets, including large-scale omics datasets
  • Develop computational models to stratify patient groups and enable data-driven target discovery
  • Support team to build and maintain a secure data pipeline
  • Advise on and support activities to functionally validate targets using in silico approaches
  • Work collaboratively with the team and external partners

Requirements

  • PhD (or in exceptional cases, a masters level degree) in computer science, bioinformatics, or related discipline
  • Experience in working with large-scale genomic or functional genomic datasets
  • Proficient in Python and/or R
  • Mastery in integrating and analysing diverse high-dimensional omics data sets
  • Experience in building infrastructure for large scale data analysis and storage
  • 5+ years of industry experience
