A leading dairy processing company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their sites in the North of England. The business produces and distributes milk and dairy products throughout the region.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- To provide electrical and mechanical maintenance to a range of machinery, including packaging equipment, conveyor systems, generators, chillers, and bottling machinery.
- Respond to urgent breakdowns to minimize machine downtime.
- Perform electrical repairs to motors, drives, inverters, encoders, boards, wiring, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC systems.
- Record and communicate all findings and recommendations.
- Assist with projects and the installation of new equipment.
- Collaborate with the engineering manager to develop and implement line improvements, new installations, offline repairs, and planned maintenance.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
**Requirements:**
- Essential experience in a maintenance and fault-finding role.
- Electrical qualification or willingness to undertake training to gain qualification.
- Knowledge of electronics, PLC systems, pneumatics, mechanical engineering, and welding.
- A proven track record in a similar role.
- A strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
The position offers a 5-day week, Monday to Saturday coverage, with an average of 48 hours per week. A company pension scheme is also available.
