We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pavement Engineer to join our team at Egis Road Operation UK Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the management of pavement assets, developing and implementing an integrated asset management strategy to deliver maintenance and renewal activities across the network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an integrated asset management strategy for pavements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain the Highways England Pavement Management System (HAPMS), including network referencing, construction updates, and reporting for inclusion in the Asset Management Forward plan.
- Collect and manage highway inventory asset data using HD video and upload into the Asset management systems, Agile assets/CONFIRM databases.
- Identify and scope maintenance, renewal, and improvement projects to overcome pavement issues, ensuring effective resource allocation and budget management.
- Assist with the management of technical inspections and machine surveys, including planning of survey routes, assessment, and monitoring of programs, evaluation of completed surveys, and identifying missing or incomplete data.
- Provide input into the production of the Asset Management Forward Plan (AMFP) for road traffic signs, continuously developing and improving the 5 and 30-year program to demonstrate the management of condition and meet handback requirements.
- Support engineers to the highest degree possible, engaging with Highways England, DBFO Co, and key stakeholders internally.
- Liaise with the O&M team to assist on technical aspects of maintenance, including providing advice for emergency and temporary repairs to pavement assets.
- Produce the AMFP for pavements and continuously develop and improve the 5 and 30-year program to demonstrate the management of condition and meet handback requirements within the DBFO Contract.
- Undertake and manage inspections, lifecycle analysis, whole-life assessment, and asset strategy reviews.
- Engage in the identification and implementation of innovation across the business.
- Act in a way that demonstrates the values of CPS.
- Contribute to continuously improving the Health and Safety culture across the contract.
- Manage and react to unforeseen events, Watchman reports, and HAILS, including being available to be placed on the 24-hour call-out register at a minimum of six days in six weeks.
- Qualified to degree level or proven experience.
- Progressing towards or membership of an appropriate Professional Institute (e.g., ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
- Familiar with pavement design standards in accordance with the DMRB, MCHW.
- General understanding of pavement operations, maintenance, and renewal and RWSC.
- Skilled in MS Office applications.
- A general understanding and exposure to real-time asset databases, with a willingness to apply skills to new and evolving Asset Management Systems and Tools (Agile).
- Project management and programming skills.
- Knowledge of highway-related areas, including but not limited to, drainage and geotechnical.
- An understanding of the commercial impact resulting from a changed operational regime, resulting from external influences.
- Capable communicator and active team member.
- Methodical and structured approach, working individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships within Connect Plus Services, the DBFO Co, Highways England, and other relevant key stakeholders.
