Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Waking Night Childcare Support Staff to join our team in Soham, Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide high-quality support and care to children and young people during nighttime hours.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £27,431.48 per annum on successful completion of probation period or £28,959.84 per annum for qualified candidates. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a robust induction and training program, progression opportunities within the organisation, and a pension scheme after a qualifying period.

Job Description

About the Role:

  • Provide physical, social, and emotional care and development of children and young people in our residential homes
  • Assist with daily routines, including bedtime routines that are person-centred to each child
  • Engage in activities with children to promote their well-being and happiness
  • Monitor and report any changes in children's behaviour or well-being to relevant authorities

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in childcare or be committed to undertaking a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and families
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Benefits:

  • A minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month
  • 236 hours annual leave per annum (including bank holidays)
  • Holiday increase per year - 12 extra hours for 3 years (capped at 272 hours)
  • Pension scheme after a qualifying period
