We are seeking two experienced professionals to join our Mental Health Support Team in Barnsley. As an Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health in educational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in educational settings.
- Develop and disseminate packages of care, including evidenced-based interventions, to children and young people, and work with parents and teaching staff on an individual and group basis.
- Offer specialist support, consultation, and training to staff within the service and other agencies as required.
- Teaching qualification and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
- Knowledge of educational environments, safeguarding issues, and capacity and consent issues, including Gillick competence.
- Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and other agencies, including experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties.
- Experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families, such as CBT and solution-focused brief therapy.
- Knowledge of the functional operation of specialist Children and Young People's Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing services teams.
