Receptionist Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and register patients, ensuring accurate collection of credit card details and patient information
  • Direct patients, consultants, and hospital teams to the hospital in a warm and professional manner
  • Process in-patient/out-patient charges and manage cash handling within the parameters of our 'Handling Cash Policy'
  • Discharge patients onto our computer system, ensuring accuracy of all information
  • Manage the hospital switchboard, responding to calls and enquiries in a timely manner
  • Undertake various clerical duties, including checking bed status reports and ordering newspapers

Requirements:

  • A personable individual with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Good basic PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills and high degree of accuracy in administration
  • Great communication skills at all levels and experience in a customer service environment
  • Switchboard experience desirable

Working Patterns:

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday with expected weekends on rotation. Departments run from 6:30am to 21:30pm. Please only apply if you can commit to these working patterns.
