About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Dietitian Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our dietetic team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist advice and support to patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced assessment and treatment of patients with complex respiratory conditions, including those requiring enteral feeding and oral nutritional support.
  • Work closely with therapy colleagues to develop and implement innovative dietetic treatment pathways.
  • Participate in the development, education, and delivery of training to dietetic staff, healthcare professionals, and dietetic students.
  • Initiate and carry out service development projects on the respiratory wards, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of care.
  • Lead the Dietetic Respiratory inpatient service provision on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and improving patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Significant post-graduate experience in a relevant specialist area, with a focus on respiratory dietetics.
  • Practical skills and in-depth experience in a multi-disciplinary setting, with a focus on respiratory dietetics.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of training dietetic students and providing clinical supervision.
  • Relevant continued professional development in areas such as clinical practice, teaching, and leadership.
