Job Role: Children's Support Worker

As a Children's Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting children in care, putting their needs at the forefront of everything you do. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children in all aspects of their lives, including educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities
  • Developing and contributing to positive outcomes to help shape the future of children and young people
  • Working closely with children in care, using your skills and experience to make a real difference

Responsibilities

As a Children's Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Assisting with daily routines, including working in the community and/or educational settings
  • Organising and facilitating social activities to promote positive relationships and outcomes
  • Transporting children and young people as required
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to implement safe practice and achieve positive outcomes
  • Offering high levels of supervision and support to children and young people
  • Working in line with Ofsted and CQC regulations to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments, including reviews and updates
Requirements

To be successful as a Children's Support Worker with Nurseplus, you'll need:

  • Previous experience working in a child and/or young adult setting
  • To be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations
  • Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, or SEN/SEND
  • An enhanced DBS, which we'll support you in obtaining
  • A Full UK Driving License (desirable)
