Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Lead to join our team at Optimum Recruit. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new and existing products that meet the mechanical technical requirements of form, fit, and function.

About the Role:

  • Design and analyze bespoke products to ensure compliance with client specifications, legislative requirements, quality, and HSE standards.
  • Support the Design team with the use of analytical tools, including FEA and CFD techniques.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to develop new or existing products that meet mechanical technical requirements.
  • Provide a professional mechanical engineering service to the business and interface with customers and suppliers to ensure activities are completed to meet or improve program, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Act as a point of contact for support and advice to other members of the design team and across the company as a whole.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expertise in mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver product designs that meet customer needs.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations to improve product performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards throughout the design process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with FEA and CFD software is desired.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
