About the Role

We're on the hunt for a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Lounge. As a key member of our kitchen crew, you'll be responsible for supporting our Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage the kitchen team to achieve high-performance standards
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations
  • Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and safely, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff, including apprentices and junior chefs
  • Collaborate with the Ops team to drive sales and labour forecasts, reporting, and recruitment

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food prep, hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, and good hygiene practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport and trust
  • Familiarity with KPIs and decision-making in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Strong knowledge of best practice around rota scheduling, sales, and labour forecasts, reporting, recruitment, and HR
