Production Test Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Test Engineer to join our team at a leading Missile organisation based in Bolton. The ideal candidate will have SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.

This role offers an accommodation expense for candidates travelling from more than 30 miles away, with receipts required and a maximum of £400 per week for accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct production testing and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem levels.
  2. Test complex electronic and electrical equipment, diagnose production test failures down to component level, and implement corrective actions to enable Manufacturing to continue production in line with the programme.
  3. Assess Test Equipment issues, direct support services to resolve equipment failures, and ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.
  4. Evaluate technical problems to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
  5. Represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent, plus good level of experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test.
  2. Good understanding of measurement and test principles, and associated equipment.
  3. Understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level is an advantage.
  4. Understanding of Environmental testing (including ESS) is also an advantage.
  5. Good planning and organising skills.
  6. Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  7. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Manual handling training.
  10. ESD training.

This is an umbrella contract; the role is Inside IR35.
