About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham, working on high-voltage applications. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems for aerospace, automotive, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. You will lead simulations and trade studies for power system electrical architectures using Simulink, PLECS, Simetrix, and LTspice.
  2. Short circuit modelling (PLECS) and grounding scheme designs will be your area of expertise.
  3. Fault management schemes, including arcing, will require your close attention.
  4. You will work closely with electronics hardware design teams, participating in design reviews and contributing to the development of solid-state power controllers (SSPC).
  5. Testing prototype units in high-voltage test labs is a critical aspect of this role.

Essential Qualifications

  1. A minimum degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or science subject.
  2. Prior experience as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer in the aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors, or academia.
  3. Working knowledge of Simulink, PLECS, Simetrix, LTspice, or equivalents.
  4. Safe working practices in lab environments, preferably high-voltage.
  5. Strong analogue electronics design skills.

Competitive Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is up to £75 per hour via Umbrella, providing a competitive compensation package. This rate reflects the complexity and importance of the work involved.
