About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with vulnerable families to provide a package of support, acting as a point of contact in school for families in need of assistance. You will signpost for families and refer for support when appropriate, liaising professionally with external agencies such as Housing, NSPCC, Sure Start, Social Care, Early Intervention Teams, Passenger Transport, YOS, and Police.

You will complete appropriate referral forms to external agencies as and when required, attend multi-agency meetings as necessary, carry out home visits where required, and build effective relationships with families. You will also provide opportunities for families to engage with the school before their pupil begins to establish support and build relationships before the pupil starts at the school, and maintain regular contact with families of pupils receiving support to encourage positive family involvement in the pupil's learning.

Meadowcroft - The Lodge is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 19, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs in 4 sites across Wakefield. Our dedicated team works together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
