Job Title: Neonatal Clinical Educator

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our education team as a Neonatal Clinical Educator. This role will be responsible for the ongoing development and sustainability of high-quality and innovative practice and educational development for all neonatal services within Women and Children's Care Group.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting neonatal services on all matters relating to training and education
  • Ensuring excellent communication with senior nursing staff within the care group and trust, as well as with external agencies and Higher Education Institutes
  • Liaising with the senior nursing team and relevant others to ensure the workforce development and education agendas are aligned and follow local and national guidance
  • Reliable, flexible, motivated, with excellent managerial skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high-quality care, and a willingness to embrace positive change and transformation meeting the demands of the community we serve
About Us:

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals, and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health, and manage their conditions through high-quality care, advice, and support.

Person Specification:
  • 1st level registered children's nurse or equivalent registered practitioner
  • Degree education or equivalent experience
  • Recognised teaching/training/assessment/mentoring qualification
  • Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development
  • Qualified in Neonatal Speciality
  • Working towards a relevant masters degree
Experience:
  • Proven extensive experience in neonatal care setting
  • Facilitating the training and assessment of competence in the clinical area
  • Team working across an MDT
  • Performance Management and development of staff
  • Experience in utilising a variety of presentation styles eg PowerPoint
Skills, Ability and Knowledge:
  • Able to demonstrate clinical skills in a training scenario
  • Proven ability to manage resources effectively
  • Highly developed communication skills including liasing effectively with teams/individuals within and outside the organisation
  • Evidence of commitment, motivation, and adaptability
  • Proven dexterity in basic and advanced clinical skills
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its application
  • Experience in Clinical audit and the application to practice
  • Certificate in relevant human factors skill training
